Last Thursday morning, I saw a squirrel on the tree branch and another one on the narrow cable that holds My Bird Feeder®. One squirrel dropped down to My Bird Feeder® and can't get at the feed. After 1 minute and 35 seconds, the squirrel jumps off. This abbreviated video is 49 seconds long. The long video is on another of my YouTube postings.
It has been a long time since I saw a squirrel on My Bird Feeder® and I was fortunate to record it. The sun wasn't up yet so the colors aren't vivid.
This video shows how my newly designed bird feeder works. I use a wide tall polycarbonate tube that tapers in as it goes down. Then I use a reducer that feeds into a smaller diameter tube; which is where the metal perches are. It is tough for squirrels to get at the perches.
This New Design doesn't have a "build up" of moist feed on the bottom which rots. This is why you have to clean your normal tube style feeder frequently - to get rid of this mucky rotten feed.
You don't have to clean My Bird Feeder® as often because there in no build up of rotten feed.
My Bird Feeder® has a heavy duty metal top cap and it has metal perches that Cardinals feed from.
